14/20243 - JFK and Storstrømmen - Offshore – Protection and Removal

Description of the Projects 1. JFK In 2017 two existing 150 kV submarine cable connections has reached the end of their lifetime and need to be decommisioned. The cable connections are from Als to Funen and across Kolding Fjord. In addition two new 150 kV submarine cable connection, one between Fredericia and Funen and one between Als and Funen will reinforce the grid on Funen. 2. Storstrømmen Energinet.dk owns and operates 3 submarine cable systems in the strait that will have to be decommissioned and removed in connection with a new bridge being constructed. In addition two cable connections connecting Masnedø and Zealand will have to be removed due to developments in Vordingborg harbour. Therefore Energinet.dk has decided to replace these three cables with a new submarine cable connection to secure the power flow between Zealand and the Islands of Falster and Lolland. The scope of work includes: • Protection, via Jetting and/or pre-trenching, of two subma-rine cables of the RYT- GRP-FVO and ABS-SØN cable laying projects (also called JFK). The two sections is in total 18km • Removal of two existing submarine cables in Lillebælt between Fynshav and Horneland and across Kolding Fjord. In total approximately 13 km Submarine cable • The transport and laying of 18 km submarine cables of the JFK project. This Cable is to be layed in two sections of 6 and 12 km respectively, in two separate locations, one in the northern part of Lillebælt and one in the southern part of Lillebælt. The laying includes pull in operations onshore • Protection, via jetting and / or pre-trenching, of 6 km sub-marine cable in the Storstrømmen project • Removal of 5 existing cables in Storstømmen- og Madsne-sund strait. In total approxi-mately 13 km Submarine ca-ble • The transport and laying of 6 km submarine cables of the Storstrømmen project. The laying includes pull in operations onshore
