Salten krematorium/5198712 - Environmentally friendly cremation at Salten crematorium - Design and buildt contract for crematory equipment

As a result of increased efforts, the Bodø municipality in Nordland is considering modifying the Salten crematorium. The facility is located at Stormyrveien 75, 8008 Bodø (no / no: 38/683). The acquisition involves the necessary upgrades from a category 2 crematorium to a category 1 crematorium. As of today, the maximum allowable number of cremations is 200 per year. The municipality is considering increasing the capacity of the facility to 600 annual cremations. This can be done by either: a) to develop existing buildings and replace the entire crematorium technical facility and so that all activities in the building can be dimensioned for 600 cremations a year, or b) install filter technology with control system on existing crematorium furnace (type Mitab) so that the number of annual technical cremations can exceed 200 persons. c) The last option is to limit the number of cremations by excluding some of the municipalities that currently supply coffins to the crematorium. These alternatives result in cancellation of the competition. This contract applies only to the total contract for the supply and installation of crematorium technical equipment at the Salten crematorium. Any construction work will come as another contract later in the process and will depend on which of the above solutions is decided. The result of this competition will be part of the political process for choosing the above options. For this procurement, the suppliers / providers possess the best expertise. The client has therefore chosen to have the suppliers to propose their own optimal solution within the framework of the project. This acquisition is the first contract to be entered into in this project. The contract work concerns design and construction. Complete design, delivery and installation of a crematorium technical equipment shall be provided for the Salten crematorium adapted to the requirements of the Regulation for Category 1 crematoriums.
