Request for information (RFI) - Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR)

The Danish National Police expects to enter into a framework agreement regarding delivery, development and maintenance of a system for automatic number plate recognition (ANPR). In 2013, Rigspolitiet (i.e. the Danish National Police) completed a proof of concept on automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) in order to explore potential benefits. In light of the results, the Danish National Police has decided to implement this technology in the entire police force to support the action against e.g. international and organized crime, burglary and home robberies and support to the Danish Tax Administration of mobile, flexible and intelligence-based custom actions. The Danish National Police anticipate that the tender will include the following: • Fixed ANPR cameras • Mobile ANPR cameras with associated ANPR software for police cars and possibly motorcycles • Other types of portable ANPR solutions, either with associated ANPR software or with a connection directly to the back-end ANPR system • ANPR back-end system • Installation • Support and maintenance Please note that the mobile ANPR must be incorporated in a mobile PC-concept, which consist of a Window-based mobile PC, a mounted monitor on the police car's front panel as well as an application controlling the programs installed on the mobile PC. The Danish National Police will provide the communication infrastructure for the ANPR systems.
