18/5228 - Purchase of Light barge for geotechnical field investigations

The client invites tenders for the supply of a mobile barge for geotechnical investigations based on the enclosed technical drawings and specifications in this document. The barge will be equipped with a derrick that folds down for transport no land. The derrick is currently in production. The barge must be equipped with hydraulics, water and 24 V electrical power for the operation of the derrick, and will be foldable for easy transport by truck. The purpose of the procurement is to streamline the equipment currently used by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. The barge will be much more lightweight than the rafts used by the NPRA today, and it will be easier to transport and deploy. The barge will allow for geotechnical ground investigations to be carried out in shallow waters, something that has previously been difficult.
