Renovasjons- og gjenvinningsetaten (REG), har ansvaret for den kommunale avfallshåndteringen i Oslo. Etaten skal sørge for en miljø- og kostnadseffektiv håndtering av avfallet, og tilrettelegge for avfallsforebygging, ombruk og gjenvinning.
REG tømmer 114 000 avfallsbeholdere hver uke. Vi drifter gjenbruksstasjoner, utsorteringsanlegg og anlegg som produserer biogass, biogjødsel og fjernvarme. Etatens kvalitets- og miljøstyringssystemer er sertifisert iht. ISO 14001 og ISO 9001.
