Bymiljøetaten har ansvar for Oslo kommunes forpliktelser knyttet til bymiljø, herunder forvaltning og drift av Oslo kommunes skoger og friluftsområder, gater/veier, idrettsanlegg, sentrale parker, byrom og større, sammenhengende friområder, inklusive turveier, øyer i indre Oslofjord og strandsonen. Bymiljøetatens mål er å gjøre Oslo til en trygg, vakker, grønn og aktiv by. Anskaffelsen gjøres for å sikre en forsvarlig drift og en effektiv feil- og avviksretting i kommunens lysanlegg. Anskaffelsen skal sikre at lysanleggene opprettholdes forskriftsmessige og trygge, og tilfredsstiller innbyggernes forventning om at utendørs belysning virker til enhver tid.
