Commodity Hand Services - LTA Food Commodity Handling Services

For General Food Distribution activities in Bentiu Internally Displaced People Site and outside the IDPs, Northern Bar el Gazal State and Nayla and Ganyliel in Panyijar County WHH South Sudan is seeking services from a handling company. The tasks, duration and conditions are outlined below: WHH receives food from the WFP warehouse, WFP offloads the food at Food Distribution Points (FDPs) after which the custody of the food changes shifts to WHH by confirming receipt of the quantities confirmed by WHH and WFP truck driver. It is from this point that WHH wishes to engage a handling company to provide labor to push this food until it goes to each targeted household. Tasks involved are: Restocking: the food into smaller bits-easier to handle and count stacks for groups of beneficiaries to collect and go share as per their household sizes. CSB++ and vegetable oil cartons on the other hand are opened and distributed in terms of pieces (though with specific weight) to intended project participants Scooping: There are those small quantities of food that are not given as a whole bag, a carton or a piece e.g. 21kg or 15 kg or 10kg of beans, sorghum or at times salt; these are scooped using WHH calibrated containers. Loading and Offloading food returns: Once distribution activity for the day is done, and some food is remaining on ground due to time or low project participants turn up, the service provider/company is required to load the balances on WFP or WHH provided truck/s, which take it back to WFP warehouse at times offloaded or remains in the truck until next day when it’s sent back to distribution point for distribution. The same service provider/company does offload this food either at the warehouse or at the food distribution point. Pushing of Returns: Many cycles have food balances/ closing stocks; if this is the case, they will be loaded, taken to Food Distribution Points (FDPs) and (distributed through the above-described process to reach participant
