The control of exports of goods, services and technology subject to export licences requires thorough assessments of end users to prevent misuse or diversion to undesirable actors. DEKSA therefore needs a screening tool that can systematically and comprehensively provide relevant information about end-users, as part of the decision-making basis in case processing. The screening tool must be able to identify and present information about entities that DEKSA needs to investigate in connection with case processing. This can be any identifiable entity - for example, a person, a company, a government institution, a ship or a physical address. Such an investigation may also include links between the declared end-user, distributors, intermediaries and other entities, as well as links to goods and technology with possible dual-use. The investigations may include several links in the supply chain.
