Väg 218 är den primära anslutningen för Trosa kommuns invånare till nationell infrastruktur E4 och till resecentrum vid Södra Stambanan, kommande Ostlänken.Vägen är betydelsefull för personbilstrafik, busstrafik, godstrafik och yrkestrafik med långsamtgående fordon.
Väg 218 har idag problem med trafiksäkerhet, särskilt viltolyckor, och framkomlighet. Pågående exploatering, förväntad befolkningsutveckling och en framtida station i Vagnhärad vid Ostlänken medför att vägen är ett prioriterat objekt i länet. Den totala väglängden är ca 10 km.
Projektet går ut på att ta fram en vägplan för väg 218 mellan Vagnhärad och Trosa. Fokus ligger på följande i vägplanen: Trimnings- säkerhetsåtgärder, Förbättra sikt, Viltolyckor, Breddning med stigningsfält, Säkra trafiksäkerheten i korsningen med tillgänglighet till Solberga och nytt resecentrum.

Description of the procurement

Projektet går ut på att ta fram en vägplan för väg 218 mellan Vagnhärad och Trosa. Fokus ligger på följande i vägplanen: Trimnings- säkerhetsåtgärder, Förbättra sikt, Viltolyckor, Breddning med stigningsfält, Säkra trafiksäkerheten i korsningen med tillgänglighet till Solberga och nytt resecentrum. Förutom vägplan ska också ett FU tas fram och Byggplatsuppföljning handlas upp.
