Projektets syfte är att utveckla metoderna för dimensionering och utveckla utformning av bergskärningar. Projektet ska omfatta en litteraturgenomgång för att dokumentera tillgängliga krav och metoder i Sverige och i andra länder med liknande geologiska förutsättningar. Utifrån detta utvecklas och föreslås nya dimensioneringsmetoder och exempel på utformning. För detta vill Trafikverket upphandla en organisation för att i samråd med Trafikverkets tekniska specialister föreslå nya dimensioneringsmetoder och exempel på utformning.
