Objective
The main objective of this project is to audit the local pig production through site visits, business meetings and knowledge sharing events with industry stakeholders to map the challenges and opportunities of the Chilean pig industry and the possibilities this has for the Danish industry and suppliers of products, technologies and solutions. 

Scope of Work
The consultant will be required to approach in depth, at least one of the following topics, in order to identify local gaps and potential of the Chilean pig industry that may be able to be addressed by Danish experience, solutions and technologies: 
1.	Circular economy of resources: Reuse of waste in new production processes and strategies implemented for critical points.
2.	Low-emission pork production (applicable to poultry as well): Maximum efficiency in the use of energy, water, and feed. Strategies for minimizing odours and GHG (combination of construction systems, floors, technologies, ventilation systems, food, etc.)
3.	Collaborative experiences to address sustainability issues: Collective biodigesters of organic products, high production of biogas and its subsequent uses (purification and injection into the network, liquefied gas, use of remaining co2), odour treatment.
As mentioned, it is a requirement that one topic is thoroughly covered by the consultant. However, it would be desirable if the remaining topics could also be analysed, at least from a general perspective.  

Deliverables (output)
•	Inception report containing a description of the consultant’s approach in order to achieve the objective
•	Meeting with TC Santiago, the Chilean Meat Association (ChileCarne) and main local producers to analyse the Chilean pig industry identifying specific gaps and potential that could eventually be approached by Danish products, solutions and technologies.  
•	Development of a report for TC Santiago that will be shared with Danish industry and stakeholders with main findings and potential to approach the Chilean market.
•	Development of brief report for TC Santiago that will be shared with the Chilean industry with main findings, identifying gaps and benefits of possible applications of Danish technologies and solutions. 

Timing
TC Santiago requires the work to be conducted during 5 working days in a date to be agreed with TC Santiago in November/December 2023.
