The scanner is to be used to generate images in veterinary patients at the University Hospital for companion animals. In addition, the equipment will be used as a research tool in as many areas of the department’s research as possible. Current strengths in the department relate to neurology (including imaging brain development), oncology, internal medicine. In addition the department provides professional degree courses in Veterinary Medicine and is also the provider of post graduate masters courses in imaging and is a center for training European Specialists in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.
