The Embassy wishes to focus the intervention around the following objectives/ components: 1. Increasing productivity and income of a large number of smallholder farmers in Northern Nigeria (Kaduna and Kano); 2. Piloting production systems innovation and regional diversification in South-West Nigeria (Ogun and Oyo); 3. Increasing access to finance for SME companies that invest in solving value-chain bottlenecks at regional and national level; 4. Enhancing sector coordination and business-to-business linkages. In terms of prioritization, the programme should have a main focus on components 1 and 3 and a smaller focus on components 2 and 4. Bidders are asked to pay special attention to increasing the decision making power of smallholder farmers and to building trust between value chain actors.
