7106 - superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SNSPD) system

DTU requires a system that enables the detection of single photons with extremely high efficiency, which is something very useful in many different experiments in Quantum Physics. In short, the SNSPD-system (superconducting nanowire single-photon detector) is provided with: (1) a closed-cycle cryostat, which provides a low-temperature environment for the superconducting nanowires, and (2) the high-efficiency nanowire detectors. In our system, we are getting 6 superconducting nanowires.
