20/02384 - Case Study regarding hydrogen pipelines

Energinet is in the process of building up knowledge on hydrogen infrastructure. As part of this, Energinet would like to obtain initial guiding on the cost implicated with retrofitting/refurbishing one of the existing natural gas pipelines between Egtved and Frøslev for hydrogen transport, compared to the cost of a new dedicated hydrogen pipeline with the same capacity. As part of this investigation, the technical requirements and issues related to both refurbishing of existing and construction of a new pipeline should be presented in a report, including a discussion of pipeline capacity, strengths and weaknesses of pipeline reassignment alternatives, and any other technical specifications/requirements deemed relevant for this case study. The full suite of tender documents, including tender conditions, scope of services and contract draft will be issued to the prequalified applicants upon prequalification.
