DTU Wind and, more specifically, TestLab are conducting research and accredited testing to develop and characterize the materials that will be used in future wind turbine blades. On this topic, this purchase would support fatigue research and allow the lifetime of composite materials to be explored above 10 million cycles. For such a high number of cycles it would be beneficial to use a resonance testing machine to speed up these tests. Composites are known to be quite dissipative materials, so the machine should be able to work at the low limit for resonance systems and provide enough energy.
