A Staff Communication Solution - A Staff Communication Solution to the furture S-Network

De Aanvraag is gesloten. U kunt de uitnodiging niet meer accepteren.

DSB's Future S-Network Programme is undertaking a substantial initiative to establish a future driverless train setup in Denmark for the S-network covering the Greater Copenhagen area.

The purpose of this market dialogue is to describe DSB´s current view on requirements and scope for a staff communication solution meaning communication between the Traffic Control Centre (TCC) and the staff circulating within the S-train network covering the Greater Copenhagen area and to get the market’s feedback on these requirements and scope. The solution will be part of DSB´s future S-Network setup.

In the future, DSB's S-trains will operate without permanent onboard staff. Instead, DSB plan to introduce a new role known as 'Stewards' that will be servicing the train lines. These Stewards will need a Staff Communication solution to support their daily operation procedures. Accordingly, they will need compatible devices, enabling them to communicate across the entire operation area.

The Stewards need be able to reach any S-Train station in maximum 15 minutes, and any S-train within 20 minutes. The staff communication solution must provide coverage across all track areas as well as extend to areas beyond the tracks, accommodating scenarios where a Steward might need to travel using alternative means such as a bike, scooter, or taxi.

The Staff Communication solution is not Train Operational safety bearing, but has a vital supporting function, as the Stewards need to remove non-operational trains, participate actively in stranded train passenger evacuation, or verify if Unattended Train Operation (UTO) solutions fail.

Before finalising the tender material DSB is now seeking market feedback on the anticipated requirements for the Staff Communication solution. Accordingly, DSB have prepared a number of questions etc. to the market regarding the Staff Communication solution and intend to invite some of the suppliers who respond to the questions to workshop sessions.

If you are interested in participating in this market dialogue, we kindly ask you to send a message through EU supply and you will receive further information and material.”

Kind regards
